What can you use the app for?

Wishybox is a universal wish list that lets users create lists for any occasion or event. The user can organize items on the list and add any item found on the web with a simple link. Items can be rearranged whenever the user wants with Wishybox’s drag and drop system. Users can create a list and reserve specific gifts for friends or family members to prevent duplicate gift buying. Users can also comment on gifts to discuss group gifts and coordinate purchases without alerting the gift recipient. Wish lists can be set to private or shared with friends, family or publically so anyone can access them. Each list includes the item name, URL, a short note and the current sale price.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Wishybox was introduced to provide users with a better way to create, manage and share their wish lists. The application provides a simple service with a number of attractive features. The current version lets users set wish lists to public or private and discuss gifts with others directly on the wish list. The application has received some attention from users and reviewers thanks to its helpful gift giving focused features.

What are the differences to other apps?

Many retailers offer users a built in wish list function on their websites. Wishybox is different because it lets users compile wish lists across all retail websites. It doesn’t matter where the product is available. The user can add everything to one wish list. The application also lets users discuss potential gifts without the recipient seeing. Wish list settings let users keep their lists private or public.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

Wishybox welcomes users with a fun green and blue color scheme and images of decorative gift boxes. The interface is nice and clean, and surprisingly clutter-free. There are some banner advertisements tucked along the sides of wish lists, but these can be ignored without hindering the user’s experience. The wish lists are simple but provide just enough information for gift givers to make the search for a great present much easier.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can begin by clicking the green “Get Started” button found at the center of the Wishybox homepage. A pop up box appears at the center of the screen and asks the user to sign in with a Google, Windows Live ID, Yahoo or Facebook account. The user must choose one of these options to register for Wishybox. No email registration is offered at this time.

What does it cost to use the application?

Wishybox is available to all users at no cost. There are no fees, and there really shouldn’t be. The site includes advertisements, which help generate revenue. Many other websites also offer wish list services for free. Charging a fee would only convince most users to look elsewhere to compile their wish lists. The service comes with many fun extras that make gift giving and choosing far more convenient without adding to the cost.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Wishybox is a great tool for anyone with an upcoming event that calls for gifts. Users can also manage a personal wish list for birthdays or any occasion. The service is free and includes a number of handy tools, such as the ability to discuss gifts with others. The user can even set their wish list to private if they do not want others to be able to access it.
